Finding Great Content for Your Blog - Tips and Tricks

By Gene Fink

Your blog can be a successful money making entity as long as get traffic to it and make sure they return. The best way to do this is to provide the best content you can in your niche and make it interesting to your blog readers.

Running out of original content to post can happen to anyone, even to the most successful bloggers. Some resort to scraping the bottom of the barrel to find things to discuss, but that ultimately loses them readers, which means less money streaming in.

As for great ideas to post about, where exactly do you find them? There are a lot of different things to get you out if you're stuck for the moment. Even though these techniques are simple, when used right they're very effective. Try these things if you're stuck looking for something to write about.

Scouring the news sites. Search the news sites like CNN, MSNBC, and FOXNEWS and see if you can find a top story that you can blog about. Don't just link to the story, try adding your own accounting as well.

You can either ask the readers about what they think of the story or post your personal feelings toward it. Just make sure the story somehow relates to your blog's topic.

You can check out the sites of your fellow bloggers and see what they're blogging about. Although it seems unethical, it's okay to see what the community is interested in as long as you're not stealing any content.

Perhaps there's a post that caught your eye. Maybe you can add something to that post. Perhaps there's a new spin to it. Do like the media does and keep your eye on the competition to see what the others are doing.

Internet research. You can search the Internet for the topic of your blog. See what information you can come up with concerning your niche. You can be inspired by something you've read post comments about it.

You can join Google's experimental search option and you'll be allowed to search in different ways like mapping details, information lists, and time line. Unlike the traditional search route, this can give you more ideas: http://www.google.com/experimental/index.html.

Checking the video sites. YouTube has a zillion different videos out there that you can add to your blog. See if you can find one that relates to your blog's topic. When the video is posted to your blog, let your readers share their thoughts on it.

You can also consider reviews. While you try to get inspired, reviews can be a good filler. Choose some articles, websites, books or whatever you can think of that's related to your blog's topic and post a review of it. You can add your affiliate link and make some money if it's a good review.

Daily activities. You might be able to work your blog if you think about what happened within your day. For instance, if your blog is about flowers and you saw some flowers during your walk, then you can use that as your post.

You can take pictures and enhance the reader's experience and let your readers know the kinds of flowers in your neighborhood.

You can easily get back your inspiration for your blog posting if you look to other sources. They can help you come up with ideas of what you can share with your readers or they can give you a nice filler until your personal inspiration comes back. There's no reason for you to lose your readers just because you've lost your inspiration.
