You should always avoid foods that mention the word "artificial" in the ingredients. Why? Because your body is designed to consume what nature has made for it; not what humans have developed in labs. We do not yet know the damage caused by consuming these types of things over long periods of time.
There is a better way to increase energy
These things just aren't necessary in order to achieve high output levels. You can gain all the energy you need from proper nutrition, lots of water and a sufficient amount of sleep. If you are constantly tired, you are probably neglecting one of these areas.
Studies have revealed dangerous things about these drinks
Scientists have found that drinking energy drinks can increase the chances of stroke, heart attack and many other health problems. It just doesn't make sense to consume these drinks when there is so many things to be unsure about. I value my health too much to make these a part of my life.
If you need more energy then you need a change of lifestyle. Drinking a can of energy is NOT the best idea. Get started on a solid workout program and an effective nutritional strategy. Make sure you are getting enough sleep and the rest will take care if itself. It's a great feeling when you don't have to rely on these types of things in order to thrive throughout the entire day.
