Internet Marketing Productivity - How to Get Things Done with Your To-do List

By Victorino Lazardo

If you want to succeed in Internet Marketing, you need to be able to construct a super solid foundation for your business and learn to be so organized that you have no choice but to be productive. One tool that most Internet Marketers use a lot is the to-do list which can help you get a lot more done during your day. Of course, to get the to-do list to really work for you, you need to consistently be taking action. In order to achieve this goal, use the tips in this article.

Get the Worst Done First: Perhaps the biggest challenge you will face when composing a to-do list is actually being able to take action.

It is really easy to get distracted when you aren't focused on taking regular action and that means that the majority of your to-do list might be left untouched at the end of your day. Finding good motivation and the enthusiasm for success is important if you want to be able to overcome this problem. Finishing the hard stuff before moving on to the easy stuff is a great way to build up this motivation. That's right: list them at the top of your list and then tackle them as soon as you start your day. Because productivity levels and energy levels are highest at the start of your day the hard task will seem simple. And knowing that you've taken care of the worst already, you'll automatically take off the burden off your chest - giving you the motivation to move through the rest of the tasks on your list. Add Tasks to Your List, Not Goals: Perhaps the reason that most Internet Marketers fail to finish their to-do lists is because they start to feel overwhelmed. This usually happens when you add tasks that are big enough to be goals. Your to-do list needs to be made up of doable tasks that can help you actually achieve your end goals. These tasks should be small enough that you can actually achieve them fairly quickly so that you can know beyond the shadow of a doubt that you are moving ahead so that you can reach your objective. You need to make sure, too, that your tasks are clear and not murky. For example, "Get More Leads" is vague so it isn't really a task, but "Call 5 Prospects" is a task that is clear and easily achievable.

If You Miss It, Do It Tomorrow: This is is a rule that can really be taken advantage of by procrastinators so if you're used to procrastinating be very careful when choosing which tasks to put off for another day. However, if you look at it in a realistic way, missing out on a few tasks here and there is completely possible, and is alright. Since you can't predict with any real accuracy how your day will go or if there will be any major hurdles. So if you miss a task something without doing it deliberately then add it tomorrow's to-do list rather than forgetting it completely.

Finally, you need to have a complete and total understanding of what you want to accomplish so that you will know why you are putting in regular and consistent action and, at the end of each day, feel like you have actually accomplished something as you cross the items off of your to-do list.
