A) First, stay clear of high fructose corn syrup. It appears in a lot of foods, but is actually bad for you for two reasons:
1. It will make you gain weight. Fructose-corn syrup blocks the receptors that tell your brain whether you are full or not. When you eat foods that are rich in fructose-corn syrup, you are very likely to overeat and gain some extra pounds!
2. Secondly, \"fructose\" means \"sugar\" - and that\'s all it is, just sugar! Eat this, and it gets converted straight away into blood sugar, spiking it up by a huge amount. If you don\'t already have diabetes, well, a few meals high in sugar like that and you soon will!
You need to avoid foods like chips, and candies, as they often contain high fructose corn syrup. But really, just check the label - if it says 'fructose corn syrup', or even just 'corn syrup', it's good to stay away from it!
B) Eat less each meal: More then just "eat less", it seems that people have recently been eating larger meals, more rarely. If you keep your meals regular, you'll find you are less hungry, and need to eat less at each meal. Ideally you should be aiming for six small meals each day, which you can do by just splitting your three main meals in two. You want to aim for aim interval of 3-4 hours between each meal, but even if you can't do that, it's still better to eat several small meals (even closely spaced) then just one to three large ones.
There are three main advantages to eating less each meal:
1. Since you are eating frequently, you won't feel hungry at odd times. When you don't feel hungry, there is no reason behind eating junk foods!
2. Your metabolic rate will stay high - because you are always digesting food, your body will have no need to conserve energy and will keep burning it constantly.
3. Since you are eating small meals, your blood sugar levels won't spike up to abnormal levels. Thus eating small meals is also good for diabetics!
As you can see, eating small and frequent meals has many advantages!
Despite the fact that most weight loss 'gurus' will not mention these two tips, they are still vitally important - almost as important as eating the right foods and exercising - and if you keep too them, you'll be amazed at how quickly you can lose weight!
