It Works For My Family - Cotton Yoga Mat Review

By Tyler Campbell

As far as using it, it has an amazing floor support and the mat grips the floor very steadily, either on hardwood or on carpet. The support is nice with excellent thickness. I'm also a big fan of its length. Maybe its weight is the only drawback if you're carrying it on your back.

You won't be disappointed. This mat is a ridiculous rip off! After more than 6 months the Manduka mat is still my favorite, and the black is surely a classy note in a sea of pastel nothings. Right out of the package this mat is horrible.

It's thick and comfortable, not sticky but keeps me in place. It's easy to clean and seems like it will last a lifetime. She told me that she had the worst experience with this yoga mat. She couldn't hold her positions because she was slipping and sliding all over the place.

Really felt secure in going into some of the poses; surprising how one subtly holds themselves back when the feeling of traction is missing. A little bit longer of a mat (for the price) would have been nice.

You won't be disappointed, especially if you live in a full, active household. I don't do yoga but I do a lot of stretching along with some strength exercises I learned studying Kung Fu.

I absolutely love my Manduka. I bought this mat because my best friend pressured me into it!

Perhaps the thicker mat I had suffered from too much "give." The Manduka is easier on my wrists.

Bottom line, it's got some heft to it but it's not non-transportable, as has been reported in some reviews. I'm all of 5'1" and average weight and didn't find it prohibitively heavy. I feel my money was well invested. Remember to wash it before you use it, or it will be very slippery (I used a moist towel). I just bought the 85-inch mat as well based on Joe Drew's review recommendation but I found it unnecessarily long (I'm 5'8"). I didn't want to carry the 85-inch mat to class so I made the 85-inch a 71-inch mat by cutting it easily with my razor blade. You're worth it. I debated about this mat for some time.

I am not willing to expose myself to toxin inhalation for an hour a day. We have enough harmful materials everywhere to do this electively.
